This was taken in the area of Rotorua, New Zealand. The place is a volcanic hot spot with activity clearly shown throughout the area with no end of prevalence. Dirt is turned into sulfuric mud baths that produce steam even on warm days. I had previously gone to Yellowstone and seen many areas that were similar, but it is no less shocking to know that the crust of the Earth is so thin at your feet. 2012-2013.
